Elizabeth Burton has woven a tale of romance, action and fantasy in her second book of the trilogy, Everdark Wars.  This book could stand alone.  A reader does not have to have already read Book 1.  You feel empathy for the characters, from the beginning when they are introduced.  You can see in your mind the world Ms Burton has created on her pages.  The different races come alive in your imagination.

Randrik and his lifemate, Perian have a task before them.  If they fail the world will no longer exist, as they know it.  The evil Souleater has set many obstacles in their way.  Perian is with child and both parents struggle to save him from the Souleater.  This book has a touch of everything: battles, true love, lust, evil, goodness, loyalty, and betrayal.

Once I picked this book up I could not lay it down.  The main characters become dear to the reader.  I found myself cheering them on to the end.  One thing would have made the reading experience easier, a dictionary of the characters at the front of the book.  The odd names made it a little difficult to keep up with the different races.  I truly enjoyed the romance and the adventure this book offers.
