Through about 60 short devotional stories, you will find yourself falling in love with this unique people and their simplified life and way to apply Holy Scriptures to every day life. If only more people would see how to help others in their time of need. Some of the stories include: barn raisings when a family is struck with disaster, a missing rung on a ladder and how that could be a disaster. You will find yourself laughing and also being touched in ways you can’t imagine. After each devotional there is a recipe that has been taken from Amish cookbooks, many of these recipes I will definitely want to try.

“The Simple Life: Devotional Thoughts from Amish Country” is a splendid read. After reading this book, it makes you stop and realize what the important things in your life are really supposed to be. You realize that things aren’t what really matters but your relationship with Christ and other Christians are what matters.
