I picked this one out of many quotes Dawn Brown put in her book, because I feel it perfectly summarizes the whole book. The author writes about the simple things that make our lives more profound and meaningful. Sometimes the simple and small things are so simple and small that we fail to notice them, making our lives more complicated than they have to be. Each chapter of the book talks about a different thing, which makes it easy to just pick a random one, read it and meditate.

One of my favorite chapters, which I will definitely be coming back to, is about forgiveness. It’s so easy for us to hold grudges and so hard to actually do something about the negative feelings and make ourselves feel better. I also loved the example in the chapter entitled “Whose Gift Is It” about Buddha who was not affected by any abuse or insult towards him. When asked for explanation he said: “If someone offers you a gift, and you do not accept it, whose gift it is?” It made a lot of sense and made me think a lot. This and many other examples in the book as well as numerous quotes made the book a very insightful and enjoyable journey towards better me. I would recommend the book to anyone who wants to do something with their lives instead of taking it just as it is.
