Joan Bramsch conceived the idea for "The Golden Birthday ™ Book," to celebrate these special birthdays for her own five children, but the concept caught on with family and friends and soon spread like wildfire. As a December baby I know that my birthstone is turquoise but I did not know that I have a birth flower. I’m not sure what a white Narcissus is but I intend to find out. I also know I am a Sagittarius. Ms. Bramsch offers a formula to discover your Life Path number. I find this to be interesting trivia.

The section concerning the meaning behind flowers was really interesting. The type of flower you give someone has hidden meanings, as does the number, combination and size of the flowers.

There is an alternative to Golden Birthday for those of us who missed it. Our second chance is to look at the year of birth. I was born in 1954 so next year I could celebrate my 54th birthday as my Golden Birthday.

"The Golden Birthday™ Book" is a fun book. It’s stuffed full of interesting information. While I don’t take the numerology and astrology seriously it was interesting to read about. I found the suggestions for children’s parties to be the best part of the book. I recommend this book to those interested in celebrating that all-important day in life, their birthday.
