Author Ana Holness Bice does a great job with her first published novel.  This book has all the elements of a great story with the added spiritual storyline.  I knew that this story was going to be different when I read the dedication “This is dedicated to the great ‘I Am,’ my muse and inspiration.”

Jonathon Fitzgerald thinks he has it all, wonderful loving parents, a successful business, a beautiful fiancé and a well planned out life.  This all changes when he is on his way to a business meeting with his best friend and business associate Maxwell Adams.  The small plane that Jonathon is piloting crashes during an unexpected blizzard.

When he and Maxwell get to the afterlife, Jonathon is not ready to leave behind those he loves and the life that he had.  Because his body has already been buried, he is sent back in a different body with instructions that he can have nothing to do with his old life.  When he decides to see his loved ones without their knowing, he is surprised to find out that some of the people that he knew are not what they seemed.  When he witnesses a horrible murder he is marked for death by the killers and goes on the run to Europe and then Central America to get away from them.  While in Europe, he unexpectedly finds the love of his life and hopes that he has finally found the happiness that he returned for.  But while he is away he realizes that he must somehow go back to his family and help them.

The story has several unexpected twists and a surprising ending.  I really enjoyed the author’s descriptions of the exotic locations that Jonathon went to.  I found it to be very well written and had trouble putting it down.  If you enjoy love stories and believe in the afterlife than you will enjoy this new novel, “Fate Undenied” by Ana Holness Bice.
