In Her Eyes, MD She gave me so much insight into my life and where I wanted to be. I have always prayed to God, but I don’t think He hears me as much as I would like. Beal’s poems reflect that, like me, she prayed and expected a miracle but it didn’t happen. She has gone through many issues, and like me, a burn survivor, we feel no one accepts us. I am thrilled that she discusses dreams we have all had. There are many readers that won’t like this book, partially because it doesn’t address their specific issues. (If that is what is needed, then a DSM would be helpful.) I feel, like the author, we need to look at our lives, where are we headed, and what we want to forget. “In Her Eyes” by Melissa L. Beal, MD, is a great book of poetry to encourage us to glance at our lives and come to terms with what has hindered us from moving forward. |
