Mary Bauer expresses many ideas in this book. The main point that I could relate to in was her belief about positive thinking. She discourages negative thinking, and makes valid points about how damaging they can be to a person's life. She also points out that we often dwell on the past and the future, neither of which we can do much about.

"One way to curb negative thoughts and problems is to stop making them bigger than they are. Stop lining them up end to end. Stop reaching in your past for fodder. Deal only with what is occurring at the moment, because in actuality this moment is all you have and the only place you can 'deal' with anything.

" She believes that what you think about yourself and others creates the very life you are living. For example, a person who does not trust other people will attract others who are not trustworthy. By the same token, a person who trusts will attract trustworthy people.

"You attract into your life those things you love and fear simply by being those things. If you are ‘being fearful,’ the principle of cause and effect will find a way to create something for you to fear, real or imaginary."

“The Truth About You” explores human beings, the universe, religion and philosophy. I believe this book would appeal to adults of all ages, provided that they are interested in and open to new and different ideas; including different spiritual/religious ideas. I found the book very interesting and recommend it.
