Michael Claret is a vampire who found his soul mate just over sixty years ago.  Her name was Edie.  The night that he told her his true identity, she was taken from him in death. She had refused to be turned as she lay dying in his arms.  After he is told that she will reincarnate into another form, Michael waits for her.  When he finally feels her presence, he knows she has come back.  He waits for her to meet him again.  As she goes through her adulthood, he visits her in her dreams.  Some of these dreams include the erotic memories that they shared when her soul was in Edie’s body.
           
In her current incarnation, she is now Elisa Wilde, a vocalist and a romance writer.  Strangely enough, she likes to write romantic stories with paranormal characters.  Perhaps this time, she will be more accepting of Michael’s gifts.  When Elisa finally meets Michael in person she thinks that he is a Candyman.  She describes a Candyman as being “Handsome and charming, bittersweet like dark chocolate…”  That definitely sounds like Michael!  She also recognizes him from her dreams.  Both Michael and Elisa are immediately drawn to each other.  Elisa now has to decide how she wants to finish out her life.  Can she finally accept Michael’s gifts?
           
Even though “Candyman” by Nicole Austin is a novella, it seems like the story goes much longer.  It is very well written.  The raw emotions that are felt between the two main people will carry through to you over the pages.  The erotic moments are also incredible well described and enjoyable to read.  Because of their love, these scenes add depth to the characters.  This is definitely a book not to be missed!
