Speechless Stone Peters is hiding from someone. He’s living in a cabin in the mountains. His supplies are flown in once every two weeks. He has no phone and no contact with the world. Determined to stay in shape he runs each day. One day while he’s out running he notices a landslide. Cautiously he investigates and finds an unconscious woman with a broken leg. He carries her back to his cabin and sets her leg. He also finds her cell phone which he destroys. Eva is collecting leaves of the Laurel plant on the mountain. She spots a plant growing higher than usual and wants a specimen. She climbs to a ledge not realizing it’s an unstable rock. As she reaches for the leaves the rock gives way and she falls creating a landslide. When she regains consciousness she is in a cabin on a bed and her leg has been set with sticks. A man that reminds her of Kiefer Sutherland is standing over her. Eva has never been able to talk. She uses her PDA to express herself. Stone is drawn to Eva. He has shut people out for a long time but Eva has awakened feelings in him that he did not want awakened. The connection between them is so strong that he can hear her thoughts in his head. Stone knows that Eva is in danger as long as she’s with him. But he can’t help himself he must touch her and make love to her while he can. “Speechless” by Elissa Abbott is a love story of two people in an isolated cabin falling in love with each other. The reader should be aware that some of the scenes are graphic. The plot is interesting, although slow moving in places, but the story line has great potential. Eva and Stone just didn’t move me. I could not connect with the characters. Although I did love the reference to Kiefer Sutherland; he’s quite a hunk. I liked both Eva and Stone, but their relationship did not stimulate me. “Speechless” is an E-Book. I recommend this book to those that enjoy a mildly erotic romance. |
